The Opportunity

 

The Director, Business Finance Planning and Analytics is a critical senior finance leadership role that anchors the financial partnership for designated Business Units and corporate functions. This role exists to elevate the standard of financial planning, forecasting, and decision support across the enterprise.

The Director will be tasked with leading a transformation, moving the team from manual, transactional reporting toward standardized, insight-driven advisory. They will establish a single source of truth for performance drivers, strengthen the critical actuals-to-forecast feedback loop, and ensure all narratives presented to the executive team and the Board are robust and ready for decision-making. This position is about providing clarity, challenging assumptions, and driving value realization across the organization.

As Director, Business Finance Planning and Analytics, you will:

  • Lead strategic planning and direct the full financial planning cycle, including annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and multi-year strategic plans. Set targets, integrate OpEx and CapEx, and ensure alignment with enterprise frameworks and priorities.
  • Be a trusted business partner and serve as the primary finance partner to operational leaders and business unit VPs, translating business strategy into financially viable plans. This includes framing options, challenging assumptions, and leading scenario modeling for major strategic programs and investments.
  • Drive decision support and lead the analysis for investment analysis, ROI assessments, and business case development, collaborating with Corporate Analytics and Capital Planning teams to enhance the rigor of financial decision-making.
  • Elevate management reporting and deliver timely, accurate financial reporting, develop standardized KPIs and executive dashboards, and produce executive packs and inputs to quarterly Board materials.
  • Champion process excellence and oversee month-end close processes, ensure strong internal controls, and maintain financial policy documentation. You will champion process optimization and automation to enhance efficiency and transparency.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Finance Managers and Analysts, embedding standardized frameworks and driving a culture of insight-led work and professional growth.

This is the role for you, if you have:

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including 7+ years leading FP&A/Business Finance teams.
  • Proven track record of establishing standardized planning/reporting frameworks and delivering executive decision support.
  • CPA and/or CFA designation is required.
  • Expertise in Advanced Financial Modeling; proficiency in driver-based planning and scenario/sensitivity analysis; mastery of Excel (Power Query/Pivot) and visualization tools (Power BI or equivalent); experience with EPM/ERP systems (e.g., SAP/Oracle).
  • Strong capability in executive storytelling and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in capital-intensive and/or regulated environments (e.g., airport, transportation, infrastructure, utilities). Hands-on experience with portfolio planning, benefits realization, and transforming a Business Finance function.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance.
