Alberta Boilers Safety Association (ABSA) is the pressure equipment safety authority for Alberta. ABSA administers Alberta’s pressure equipment safety programs under the Safety Codes Act and has the authority to enforce pressure equipment safety as set out in the legislation.

 

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the Executive Director and Chief Administrative Officer of ABSA and provides leadership in establishing and implementing the mission, principles, and values of the organization. Additionally, the President and CEO provides leadership in both setting and executing the annual strategic goals, objectives, and priorities.

 

ABSA is seeking a successor to their current President and CEO, Mike Poehlmann, who is retiring. Odgers is leading the search for a visionary and adaptable leader, with experience in a related industry/field. They must have a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and a proven track record in strategic planning and operational management. The candidate should demonstrate excellence when liaising with diverse stakeholder groups, including working with industry professionals, governing bodies, and consumers. They should thrive in an environment when they are promoting integrity, protecting consumer interests, and driving the organization's mandate.
