Director, Process Management, Canadian Blood Services
Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Dartmouth
Canadian Blood Services provides lifesaving products and services for patients across the country. As Canada’s Lifeline, the organization safeguards national systems for blood, plasma, stem cells, and organs and tissues. Together with donors, volunteers, employees and partners, Canadian Blood Services makes a significant difference in the lives of people in Canada.
Established in 1998 as the successor to the Canadian Red Cross Blood Program and the Canadian Blood Agency, Canadian Blood Services is a national, not‑for‑profit charitable organization that operates at arm’s length from governments. Its primary mandate is to manage the national blood system (outside the province of Quebec) and to deliver this essential function through an integrated supply chain that supports more than 700 hospitals, health authorities and clinical sites across the country.
The Director, Process Management plays a vital national role in strengthening the safety, reliability and operational excellence of Canadian Blood Services. The successful candidate will lead the design and governance of core processes across collections, production, logistics and supporting functions, ensuring they are cohesive, compliant and operationally ready. As CBS advances through an enterprise wide transformation, the Director will modernize process capabilities, integrate digital workflows and coordinate technology transfer across internal teams and external partners. Acting as a key cross functional leader, the incumbent will align operational, quality, regulatory and digital priorities through structured governance and strong collaboration, contributing directly to the safe and effective delivery of blood and biological products for patients across Canada.
As the ideal candidate, you bring meaningful leadership experience in process management, operations, quality or regulated manufacturing environments of significant complexity. Forward looking and progressive, you combine technical depth with strategic insight and possess the ability to translate organizational priorities into clear, executable process outcomes. You are a natural collaborator who engages confidently with leaders across Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Digital, Planning and Strategy to influence decisions and build alignment. A mentor and thoughtful people leader, you support, coach and develop a high performing team while championing adoption, capability building and continuous improvement across a national, multi site network. Deeply committed to safety, reliability and operational excellence, you are motivated by the opportunity to play a key role in an organization that impacts the lives of Canadians every day.
