Chief Operating Officer, Holy Trinity School
Richmond Hill, ON
Holy Trinity School (HTS) is not just an independent school in the heart of Richmond Hill, 25 minutes north of Downtown Toronto; it is an incubator for purpose and an engine for change. With 835 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12, the School is committed to a shared journey of discovery, anchored by a fiercely personalized experience that places every learner at the centre. HTS is a connective community built on the unwavering values of respect, courage, and integrity, fostering an environment of warmth, care, and joyful learning. But its story is one of action and innovation. Founded by visionary pioneers 44 years ago, HTS continues to lead with an entrepreneurial spirit, believing that preparing for the future requires reimagining what school can be.
Innovation at HTS is deeply human and authentic – it’s the transformation the School sparks in its people. HTS empowers every single member of its staff to unlearn, take risks, and co-create what's next. HTS is where big ideas are not just discussed; they are turned into reality through mindset, heart, and courage. It’s within this context that HTS seeks its next Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Reporting to the Head of School, the Chief Operating Officer provides strategic and hands-on leadership across HTS. The role blends big-picture thinking with day-to-day hands-on oversight of finance, operations, food and custodial services. The COO works closely with colleagues on the Senior Leadership Team and supports the work of the Board through the Finance & Operational Risk, Investment, Audit, and Campus Development Committees to ensure the school's financial viability and to maintain its rich physical resources.
With at least 10 years of experience in finance and/or operations, the ideal candidate brings a strong track record of balancing strategic foresight with operational excellence. They have exceptional problem-solving abilities and a demonstrated commitment to delivering outstanding internal client service while encouraging innovation across their team. Collaborative and engaging, candidates must thrive in a fast-paced, highly relational environment. They demonstrate resilience, flexibility, curiosity and adaptability while maintaining a sense of humour and energy in their work. Experience with capital development and real estate initiatives will benefit candidates. The successful candidate holds a post-secondary degree and brings well-developed people skills, enabling them to lead effectively across the organization. A CPA designation is considered a strong asset.
Applications are encouraged immediately and should be submitted, ideally by May 4, 2026. The committee’s consideration of candidates will commence in mid-May, and the new COO will take office in late August 2026. Inquiries should be directed to Julia Robarts and Gaiana Chan of Odgers at htscoo@odgers.com. This is an existing vacancy, as after 10 years of outstanding leadership, HTS’s award-winning current COO is retiring.
Holy Trinity School is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable school culture and encourages individuals from a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to apply, helping to enrich the community and champion diversity in all its forms. As an equal-opportunity employer, Holy Trinity School will make reasonable accommodations upon request to ensure all applicants can fully participate in the interview process. If you have restrictions that need to be accommodated to fully participate in any phase of the recruitment process, please advise Odgers at htscoo@odgers.com.
