Chief Executive Officer, REALPAC (Real Property Association of Canada)
Toronto, ON, Hybrid
REALPAC is the national voice of Canada’s commercial real estate industry, representing the country’s most senior executives and decision-makers. Its members collectively manage more than $1 trillion in assets, shaping not only the built environment, but also the investment, policy, and economic landscape across Canada. As a trusted platform for collaboration, advocacy, and thought leadership, REALPAC plays a central role in advancing the industry’s priorities and addressing its most complex challenges.
With the current CEO preparing to step down after a successful tenure, REALPAC is entering an important leadership transition and a new chapter in its evolution. Building on a strong foundation, the Association is well-positioned to further strengthen its influence, deepen member engagement, and enhance its impact in a rapidly changing and increasingly complex environment.
Reporting to the Board of Directors and leading a high-performing team of nine, the CEO will serve as the primary voice and ambassador for the industry, advancing REALPAC’s strategic priorities, strengthening its position with government and stakeholders, and enhancing value for its national membership. The role spans strategy, advocacy, and operations, including shaping public policy, representing members across all levels of government, and elevating REALPAC’s profile as a leading authority on commercial real estate. Operating within a lean and dynamic Association, the CEO will balance long-term strategic leadership with hands-on execution – driving engagement, fostering collaboration across a complex stakeholder landscape, and ensuring the Association remains focused on areas of greatest impact.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned and credible executive with experience in commercial real estate, association management, public policy, government relations, law, or a related field, together with a good understanding of government, policy development, and stakeholder engagement. They bring the presence and judgement to represent the industry with influence, alongside a highly collaborative, relationship-driven approach. Comfortable operating in a lean environment, the successful candidate will be self-directed, pragmatic, and able to translate strategy into action while managing competing priorities. A strong communicator and consensus-builder, they will excel in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and demonstrate the integrity, emotional intelligence, and values-based leadership required to guide a national association at the highest level.
