Senior Vice President, Communications, Confidential Client
Greater Toronto Area
Our client is a privately-owned Canadian company, dedicated to providing great tasting, high quality food products for consumers.
Our client is creating a newly elevated global communications mandate following significant growth across North America and Europe. As they transition toward a more unified global operating model, the SVP, Communications (SVP) will be responsible for building and leading a world-class communications function that can connect a diverse portfolio of businesses, brands, geographies, and stakeholders under a cohesive global narrative. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (Global), the SVP will establish global communications standards, strengthen brand identity across markets, and provide strategic counsel on complex reputational risk, regulatory, and business matters. The mandate extends beyond traditional corporate communications, encompassing crisis preparedness, public affairs, executive positioning, stakeholder engagement, and the development of a scalable global communications infrastructure.
This is an opportunity to build a function largely from the ground up, shape how this company presents itself to employees, customers, communities, and industry stakeholders, and influence the next chapter of growth on a truly global stage.
The successful candidate is a seasoned communications and public affairs executive with experience operating in large, complex, multi-jurisdictional organizations. They bring a proven ability to lead through growth, transformation, and organizational complexity, ideally within a global business where balancing regional nuance with enterprise-wide consistency is critical. Experience supporting executive leadership in highly visible, privately held or family-influenced organizations would be particularly valuable.
The ideal candidate combines executive presence with a hands-on approach and is energized by the opportunity to build. They are comfortable establishing new capabilities, creating structure where it does not yet exist, and developing high-performing teams and operating models that can scale globally. Equally adept in the boardroom, on the plant floor, or with industry stakeholders, they bring a calm, measured presence during times of ambiguity, change, and crisis.
