A national organization with a significant public-interest mandate is seeking an experienced investment professional to help steward capital investments that preserve and strengthen housing outcomes in communities across Canada.

 

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Director, Real Estate Investments will play a key role in the evaluation, structuring, execution, and oversight of complex real estate investments. Working across the full investment lifecycle, the successful candidate will contribute to investment decisions that balance financial discipline, risk management, and long-term community benefit. The Director will work closely with a broad range of partners and stakeholders on complex negotiations and transactions that benefit the sector. They  will contribute to the development of a high-performing investment platform focused on the execution of impactful housing deals.

 

The ideal candidate brings experience in real estate investment, commercial lending, real estate finance, private capital, or a related field, together with strong analytical capabilities and sound investment judgment. They are comfortable evaluating complex transactions, navigating competing priorities, and building trusted relationships with a diverse range of partners. They thrive in high-pressure environments, navigating ambiguity and bring compelling, evidence-based positions to negotiations and transactions. Success in this role will require a combination of technical expertise, commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and a genuine commitment to housing as a critical component of strong and resilient communities.

 

The organization works in a remote capacity, and some travel will be required. Bilingualism in English and French is a requirement as this person will be conducting complex negotiations in both official languages.

 

Compensation

A competitive compensation package is offered, including a salary range of $140,000-$160,000 and a comprehensive benefits program.
