Reporting to the Manager, Financial Services, the Supervisor, Revenue Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the City of Whitehorse’s revenue functions, including property taxation, utility billing, and accounts receivable. This role is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of revenue programs, maintaining financial integrity and legislative compliance, and driving continuous improvement across revenue-related policies, systems, and processes. Leading a dedicated team, the Supervisor serves as a key advisor on revenue matters, providing financial analysis, overseeing complex issues and escalations, and supporting the City’s long-term financial sustainability. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative and forward-thinking leader to make a meaningful impact within a growing municipality and contribute to the success of the Whitehorse community.

 

The ideal candidate has a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline, along with at least five years of progressively responsible experience, including two years in a supervisory role within a municipal or public sector environment. A CPA designation would be considered an asset. They bring direct experience in property assessment, taxation, and utility billing, as well as extensive knowledge of municipal revenue legislation, regulatory requirements, and public sector accounting standards (PSAB). Experienced with enterprise financial systems and integrated revenue platforms, they are highly organized and skilled at managing competing priorities, leading teams, and solving complex problems. The successful candidate is a strong communicator and relationship builder who can effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and the public while supporting the City of Whitehorse's commitment to financial integrity, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability.
