Your experience in governance and financial leadership could make a meaningful impact on the lives of over one million Alectra customers. As a member of the Board of Directors, you will help guide a dynamic group of companies delivering innovative energy solutions as the largest municipally owned electric utility in Canada. This service territory spans 17 communities and a 1,924 square kilometer area.

As one of 14 Directors, you will be responsible for setting Alectra’s strategic direction, providing oversight to operations while identifying, managing and monitoring key organizational risks. You will demonstrate a clear understanding of the statutory and fiduciary duties of a Director and a continuing commitment to act honestly, in good faith and in the best interests of the organization.

Alectra is seeking an Independent Board Director with deep financial acumen and proven experience in audit and risk management. The ideal candidate will hold a CPA designation and bring senior executive or board-level experience in financial reporting, internal controls, risk management, and capital markets financing or investments. They should also have experience chairing boards or committees and demonstrate sound judgment in navigating complex financial and regulatory matters. Specific to this appointment expertise is sought which would provide an individual with the capabilities to be considered as a potential Chair of the Audit, Finance & Risk Management Committee.

This Board meets at least six times a year and you will be expected to serve on two Board committees, for a total time commitment of approximately 20-25 meetings a year.

Given the communities Alectra serves and the current composition of the Board, applicants who live and/or work in Mississauga would be preferred.
