The Bloor-Yorkville BIA (BYBIA) was founded in 1985, to develop and implement streetscape beautification and promotional programs to increase awareness and tourism in the area. Covering Church Street to the west side of Avenue Road, and from Scollard Street to Charles Street the BYBIA has a current membership of 1200 business. Together with their community, they have completed many projects which add to the vibrancy and popularity of the neighborhood. The BIA regularly advocates on behalf of the community in order to mitigate issues, support new developments, and discuss matters that may impact traffic flow.

The Executive Director plays a key leadership role in sustaining and building upon the strong foundation and momentum the organization has achieved over the past decade. Visible, and an engaging presence in the community, the Executive Director fosters strong relationships with local businesses, residents, political representatives, and other stakeholders. With a deep appreciation for the unique character of the neighborhood, the Executive Director will work to enhance its appeal as a vibrant, welcoming place to live, work, and visit. Through thoughtful collaboration and strategic oversight, they will ensure the continued success and relevance of the BYBIA in both day-to-day operations and long-term planning.

The ideal candidate is a thoughtful and strategic leader with a strong presence and natural ability to build trust. They bring political acuity and act as a credible ambassador for the organization. They value in-person connections and have a proven ability to develop meaningful relationships with key stakeholders. Equally comfortable managing day-to-day operations, they combine sound judgment, financial insight, and a collaborative approach to ensure that the organization runs smoothly, while staying aligned with its mission. This individual brings a balance of visionary thinking and pragmatic execution; they possess sound judgment, an intuitive understanding of stakeholder needs, and the ability to connect those needs to strategic outcomes, making them a trusted leader both within the organization and in the broader community.
