The City is seeking a visionary and strategic executive to serve as Director of Housing Services and Homelessness (Director) reporting to the General Manager of Community Well-being. The Director provides oversight, legislative accountability in compliance with the Housing Services Act, and overall operational leadership for the delivery of housing and homelessness programs including social housing, affordable housing, emergency shelter, homelessness prevention, and supportive housing programs. They lead integrated planning, performance management, and system evaluation to ensure alignment with the city’s 10-Year Housing and Homelessness Plan, Affordable Housing Strategy, and the Divisional Business Plan. As Director of Housing Services and Homelessness they work collaboratively with key stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and optimize financial and human resources to enhance service coordination, secure funding, and expand affordable housing and homelessness prevention initiatives.
With a degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or Public Administration, the ideal candidate brings extensive experience years supervising and leading staff in complex unionized environments, coupled with experience in housing and/or related social services field. Your knowledge and understanding of social and affordable housing programs, issues around housing services, stability and homelessness, procedures and processes complement your strategic leadership and change management capabilities. A proven leader, you bring the ability to unite diverse teams around shared goals while cultivating meaningful relationships with public, community, and stakeholder groups.
