The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary – Central & Arctic (CCGA-C&A) is one of six regional associations that make up the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary network. Established as a federally incorporated non-profit and registered charity, CCGA-C&A plays a vital role in marine safety and search and rescue (SAR) operations across some of Canada’s most challenging waterways. Its mandate is to assist the Canadian Coast Guard and other agencies in delivering timely, effective SAR services and promoting safe boating practices. CCGA-C&A has a projected staff of 8 and a budget of $3.2 million annually, primarily funded by the Canadian Coast Guard.
CCGA is embarking on a significant organizational redesign that will position it for continued success – modernizing its operations, building a more robust organizational structure, and allowing the Board to focus on governance and growth. As part of this, they are seeking an innovative and dynamic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead them through the transformation and into the future. The CEO will work with the Board to implement the new structure, while pushing forward toward new strategies related to funding, partnerships, and effective operations. They will work with volunteers, board members, government and indigenous communities to ensure alignment and foster a culture of safety and service across the regions it serves.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader with experience in non-profit, emergency services, maritime, or government-related organizations. They bring a track record of success in strategic planning, governance, and organizational growth, coupled with strong financial and operational management skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and resilience and bring experience working with diverse stakeholders, including indigenous communities. They will be collaborative and approachable, with the ability to inspire others and lead cultural and organizational change. A passion for CCGA-C&A’s mission of saving lives and promoting boating safety is essential, along with the ability to navigate complex operational environments and deliver results.
The role will be remote in nature, and the successful candidate can be located anywhere in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Yukon Territories, Nunavik, Nunavut and Northwest Territories.
This is a publicly advertised job posting for an existing vacancy. Expected compensation range between $125,000 to $140,000 CAD.
