Investment Committee Member, Confidential Organization

Remote

A national organization with a significant public-interest mandate is seeking experienced investment professionals to help steward capital investments that preserve and strengthen housing outcomes in communities across Canada.

The Investment Committee plays an important oversight role in supporting disciplined investment decision-making and responsible capital allocation. Committee members will provide independent expertise and judgment in the review of complex investment opportunities, risk assessments, financing structures, and portfolio considerations. This is an opportunity to contribute to an organization with a significant national mandate while helping ensure investment decisions reflect strong financial discipline, appropriate risk management, and long-term community benefit. Committee members will engage with experienced professionals across investment, finance, real estate, and governance functions and will provide objective advice on matters of strategic importance.

The ideal candidate brings a combination of experience across real estate investment, institutional investing, commercial lending, credit adjudication, risk management, private capital, portfolio management, or other related disciplines. They work well in high-pressured environments where sound decisions need to be made quickly and effectively. They are recognized for their prudent judgment, analytical rigor, and ability to evaluate complex opportunities while balancing financial considerations and long-term outcomes.

Committee meetings will generally be conducted virtually and candidates may be located anywhere in Canada. Currently the Committee cadence is bi-monthly. Investment Committee members receive an honorarium of $750 per meeting, with approved expenses reimbursed.
